PopoZao - Redefining Awful

As many of you know, Kevin Federline is trying to be a hip hop star. His newest single, PopoZao, was so slammed by record execs, critics, and listeners that it’s setting records for being one of the worst songs ever made. In this video, it’s not the annoying repetitive song that will get you, it’s Kevin’s little faux-Eminem dance moves and his face as he really gets into the music. Dr. Gregory and I were talking this morning and we both decided it’s a great world we live in when a celebrity can embarrass themselves and it’s all over the internet in seconds.

A few funny things I've heard this week

I just wanted to share a few of the weirdest statements I've heard in the past week or so with you all.

First, on Fox 5 News, the headline was, "A kid gets drunk while his mother gives birth." This is hilarious for so many reasons. Why just "a kid" and not "a child", which is what they usually say on the news? And how could the anchor get through saying this with a straight face?

The second thing was something especially for all my GW people. For those of you lucky enough to not attend George Washington University, let me fill you in. The Columbian College of Arts and Sciences (the main branch of the school) is by far the most disorganized group of people known to man. Most everyone who works there is not only incompetent, but the also seem to actually hate all the students they talk to. The other day, I heard two CCAS employees chatting in the hallway and one said to the other, "So I asked to speak to the manager and he didn't care either! You know, it's a shame, customer service is dead." And the other said, "I know, it's terrible, people are just not helpful anymore." I nearly fell down laughing on the spot. I wanted to play Alanis Morissette's "Ironic" on my iPod after that.

Anyway, I'm off to my Spanish class.

The Lonely Island, Infinitely Excellent

I know I already gave a little shout out to The Lonely Island on here, but I want to take this time to really emphasize that that site is totally great and the videos are infinitely excellent. If you get a chance, just click on “episodes” and enjoy. If you don’t have 18 or 25 minutes, at least check out the Ka-Blamo! music video.

I know most our Trashwire people probably don’t really listen to the Ying Yang Twins, but if any of you have heard that “Whisper” song they do and the chorus that goes “wait ‘til you see my dick” you will definitely get a kick out of the Bing Bong Brothers video.

And, lastly, if for some reason you’ve been under a rock since December 17th when “Lazy Sunday” first aired on SNL, you can download it on iTunes for free.

You know, at Trashwire, we have always said, “Support your dudes!” but now that little phrase has a new meaning. I want to encourage all of you to support the Dudes from The Lonely Island and check out that site.

Asian Girls, the New Greek Shipping Heirs

So recently I was thinking and I have noticed a growing trend among white boys. They seem to be dating Asian girls, particularly Japanese girls, at a rapidly growing rate. Now, I have nothing against anyone dating anyone else, but two very awesome guys that I really like are dating Asian girls, so now I have to hate those two Asian girls. Before anyone says I’m a racist, just know that I would hate them if they were any race; I would hate two white girls or black girls or Puerto Rican Jewish girls if they were dating the guys I wanted. I would hate just about anyone, for no reason at all other than the fact that they were dating someone I wanted. I’m equal opportunity like that. I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this trend or if anyone has evidence of this trend. I think it’s something that’s been growing to epic proportions for decades. In fact, I’ve even heard one famous adult film queen say she was dumped when her boyfriend decided he wanted a Japanese girl. Hmm… this looks like a case for our good friend Dr. Carson Gregory and one of his world famous shocking studies.

I absolutely loved "Lazy Sunday" the short music video by Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell on SNL a few weeks ago. It was absolutely hilarious.
